Perrysburg Schools Foundation (PSF) is proud to honor Diann Cook Toffler as the 2025 recipient of the George C. Munger and Elizabeth M. Munger Outstanding Educator Award. A 1985 graduate of Perrysburg High School herself, and an intervention specialist at PHS since 1998, Toffler has spent her career going above and beyond for her students, colleagues, and the wider community.

Described by a current student as a “calm guiding force” and a beacon of consistency and compassion, Toffler’s impact spans far beyond the classroom. Whether she’s co-teaching English, managing complex student schedules, or giving up her lunch and planning periods to provide individualized support, Toffler brings unmatched dedication to everything she does.

As head of the head of her department, Toffler coordinates teachers, paraprofessionals, and the testing center while serving as a liaison with administration. Her colleagues praise her collaborative spirit, thoughtful leadership, and selfless willingness to support others, often taking tasks off their plate during high-stress moments. One colleague noted, “Never in my 24 years of teaching have I seen another teacher so consistently generous with their time to help students.”

Toffler’s dedication continues outside school walls. She leads the Reaching New Heights Reading Program at the Perrysburg Heights Community Association, where she mentors elementary students and guides a team of high school volunteers. Her influence there is profound: “Her attentiveness to the feelings of others is unmatched,” said one student volunteer. “It’s clear that the way she presents herself is not an act, but a way of life.”

In addition to her professional commitments, Toffler serves as a Perrysburg Education Association representative and often steps in to support her colleagues during challenging times.

With more than 25 years of service, Diann Toffler has remained a steady, compassionate, and tireless advocate for her students, peers, and community. The George C. Munger and Elizabeth M. Award Outstanding Educator Award recognizes individuals who model excellence and service—and this year, no one embodies that spirit more than Diann Cook Toffler ’85.
