The Perrysburg Schools Foundation is proud to announce that Wellaroma of Perrysburg has generously sponsored the tuition of Angel, the newest permanent facility dog at Perrysburg Schools. Angel has been placed at Woodland Elementary School, where she has already begun working with students and staff members as part of her training with The Ability Center of Greater Toledo’s Assistance Dog Program.

“We are so grateful to Angela Hill and the entire Wellaroma team for making this possible,” shared Jeff Abke, Director of Development and Alumni Relations. “Angela has long been a part of the Perrysburg Schools community as a parent and volunteer. To now see her continue that leadership through her business is truly special.”

Angel is the sixth permanent facility dog to join Perrysburg Schools and marks the school district’s first placement through the ongoing partnership with the Ability Center, which provides training for the dogs, their handlers, and host schools.

“Wellaroma is all about supporting health—both physical and emotional,” said Angela Hill, founder and managing partner of Wellaroma. “So being part of bringing Angel to Woodland is such an honor for us, especially having a close connection with the school. We are grateful for our schools and the measures they take to ensure the well-being of our kids – and Angel is a big part of that.”

Angel is hosted by Anne Gerwin, a speech-language pathologist at Woodland Elementary School, who also serves as her primary handler. Leah Hall, School Counselor, and Jessica Faust, Intervention Specialist, are also trained handlers.

“The impact Angel has made on our students and school environment is remarkable,” Gerwin shared. “She helps students feel calm, safe, and ready to learn in ways that are sometimes difficult to achieve through traditional approaches. Angel also loves to interact with students by playing tic tac toe and rock paper scissors with talking buttons. We’re incredibly thankful to Wellaroma for making this possible.”The Facility Dog Program is supported by the Perrysburg Schools Foundation and private donations.
