Perrysburg Schools’ Facility Dog Program first began at Perrysburg High School in 2019. Trained facility dogs are now placed in four buildings within the school district – Perrysburg High School (Taft), Perrysburg Junior High School (Salts), Hull Prairie Intermediate School (Kincaid) and most recently Toth Elementary (Aspen).

Facility dogs are specially trained to provide physical, social, cognitive and/or emotional assistance to individuals in schools and classrooms as well as in other public settings.

Your support means more belly scratches!
Perrysburg Schools’ Facility Dog Program is made possible through private donations to the Perrysburg Schools Foundation from local businesses, families, school district employees, grandparents and alumni, as well as in-kind support from Perrysburg Animal Hospital and Plontzie’s Pet Grooming.

Donations cover the cost of all supplies for the dog at school and at home so there is no out-of-pocket cost to the host family, including things like:

  • Adoption costs
  • Bedding
  • Bowls
  • Toys
  • Food & Treats
  • Brushes
  • Medications
  • Non-routine vet visits
